Phoenix House Texas and the Region 6 Prevention Resource Center invite you to join us for our annual region-wide event, Power of Prevention: Strong Minds, Stronger Communities on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 from 9 AM to 1 PM in Houston, Texas.
The PRC Region-Wide Event is our annual gathering that brings together prevention professionals, educators, behavioral health providers, law enforcement professionals, coalition members, community leaders, and other community stakeholders from across Region 6. This event supports our mission to strengthen regional collaboration, promote behavioral health, reduce substance use, and enhance prevention efforts across the 13 counties within Region 6: Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Walker, Waller, and Wharton Counties. This event event will explore the connection between suicide prevention, behavioral health, substance use prevention, and community collaboration.
What to Expect at the Event:
- A presentation by a suicide prevention expert
- A panel discussion featuring leaders across behavioral health, recovery, prevention, and community safety
- A keynote presentation focused on recovery and prevention strategies
- Community resource tables and networking opportunities
- Continuing Education Units (CEUs) available for attendees
- Refreshments provided throughout the event
Vendor / Resource Table Opportunity:
We are inviting community organizations and partners to host vendor/resource tables during the event. This is a great opportunity to:
- Share your organization’s name and services
- Connect with attendees and prevention professionals
- Showcase your work in behavioral health, prevention, recovery, or youth support
There is no cost to participate, but space is limited! If you’re interested, please contact the Region 6 PRC Regional Alignment Coordinator, Sherry Peoples-Banks, at speoplesbanks@phoenixhousetx.org to request a Vendor Agreement Form to be completed and returned by May 20, 2026.
