Director of Quality Assurance
Dusty Vigil is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and is currently obtaining a specialized trauma therapy certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy.
Dusty’s interest with counseling started after volunteering with Denton County Friends of Family, where she worked with offenders of domestic violence. She began working at Phoenix House in July 2011 and began focus specific to the substance abuse field, adolescents, and families. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in psychology from New Mexico State University before relocating to the DFW area. While working with Phoenix House, she received a Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of North Texas in 2014. Her experience working adolescents and families has underscored application of strength based modalities used in training clinical staff.
During her time at Phoenix House Texas, Dusty has served as a recovery advocate, counselor, Quality Manager, and currently, Quality Director. With each position, she has been able to connect with both patients and staff in providing support that achieves best clinical practice, adherence to requirements and regulations.
When Dusty is not working, you will find her being active outside or exploring the surrounding cities. She emphasizes the importance of a balanced lifestyle and enjoys running, lake activities, and enjoying all that DFW has to offer.
