Megan Olson, M.Ed., LPC, LCDC
Megan Olson is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor who has been working in the substance abuse field, specific to adolescents, since January 2014.
Megan knew she wanted to be a counselor while completing her bachelors in psychology from the University of Arkansas. Megan then went and got her masters in professional counseling from Texas Christian University. There, she studied solution focused brief therapy that she utilizes through her counseling experiences at Phoenix House.
During her time at Phoenix House, Megan has served a variety of positions such as a Community Support Specialist, Counselor, Residential Coordinator, Clinical Supervisor, and now Program Director. As a result of serving in so many positions at Phoenix House, Megan is able to manage a program that allows her to supervise the unit more productively and effectively due to appreciating and understanding the variety of roles and talents it takes to ensure for a thriving and positive treatment environment.
Megan emphasizes the importance of health and wellness with the clients at Phoenix House and maintains this as a priority in her own life by exercising each day and eating healthy. Megan also emphasizes the importance of healthy relationships in her client’s lives and demonstrates this in her personal life through spending time with family and friends.
